BHADERWAH, JANUARY 22: The Social Welfare Department on Thursday organized a one-day training programme for frontline workers to strengthen awareness, prevention and community-level intervention against the menace of drug abuse- a key Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) initiative.

Officials from multiple departments, as per an official statement, were imparted skill and knowledge to mobilize communities in Panchayats, schools and municipal wards for a decisive fight against drug abuse.

The Trainers elaborated on the physical, psychological and social impact of drug abuse, advocating strategies like school-based interventions, peer education, counselling and reducing stigma for those in recovery and mobilizing communities by using IEC tools.

The programme concluded with participants taking the Drug Abuse Prevention Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to building a healthy, drug-free society.

The orientation session was held as part of Phase-II of the anti-drug IEC Campaign. Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Child Development Project Officer and Station House Officer were also spoke on the occasion.
