Jan 22: The University of Kashmir (KU) has recorded a significant academic milestone as 17 candidates from the first batch of its Civil Services Residential Coaching Programme at the varsity’s Centre for Career Counselling & Placement (CCCP) have qualified the Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination ( CCE-)2024 Mains, the results of which were announced recently, and advanced to the interview stage.

Congratulating the successful candidates, Vice-Chancellor, KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, as per a statement issued by KU on Thursday, described the outcome as deeply encouraging and commended the CCCP team for their commitment and professionalism. She noted that the results show the University’s resolve to empower youth through high-quality academic support and guidance.

“I have personally monitored the programme and made frequent visits to the Centre to ensure that the vision we set is effectively implemented on the ground,” she said.

Prof Khan also lauded the efforts of the Overseeing Committee, headed by the Dean Research KU, Prof. Mohammad Sultan Bhat, including Registrar KU, Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Director CCCP KU, Prof. Nazir Ahmad, Special Secretary to the VC KU, Dr Ashfaq Zarri and Chief Accounts Officer/ FA KU Ms. Zafira, for providing effective monitoring and guidance to the programme.

The Civil Services Residential Coaching Programme was launched to address a long-standing societal demand for institutionally supported civil services coaching in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly for economically underprivileged and female aspirants. As a fully residential initiative, the programme provides a structured and enabling academic environment aimed at enhancing students’ preparation and success.

Under the programme, students are provided free-of-cost accommodation, access to a 24×7 air-conditioned library, uninterrupted high-speed internet connectivity, structured test series, continuous mentoring, and a range of academic support services. This fully supported residential model makes the initiative the first-of-its-kind in the region.

The faculty and staff of the Centre for Career Counselling & Placement extended heartfelt congratulations to all 17 qualified candidates, noting that their dedication and perseverance have brought pride to the University.

The varsity wished the candidates every success in the forthcoming interview stage.
