The marathon was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, encouraging active participation among youth and officials, and strengthening the spirit of nationalism and unity.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Syed Faheem Bihaqi, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, besides other officers and officials, were present on the occasion.

Officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department, including Physical Education Lecturers, Physical Education Masters, Physical Education Teachers, Rehbar-e-Khel and National Youth Corps, actively participated in the event. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a strong sense of teamwork, discipline, and commitment to national values.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the celebration of Vande Mataram is a reminder of the nation’s rich heritage and the sacrifices made for freedom. He emphasized that such activities inspire youth to imbibe the values of patriotism, unity, and discipline.

“The Youth Run is a symbolic expression of our collective resolve to honour the national song by promoting health, harmony and dedication towards the nation,” he added.

The run concluded successfully at the Clock Tower, Ganderbal, marking the event as a meaningful and spirited tribute to the 150-year legacy of the National Song Vande Mataram.
