J&K has 278 parks over 531 hectares: Govt Data

Srinagar, Feb 09: Jammu and Kashmir has a total of 278 floriculture parks spread over more than 531 hectares, with Srinagar accounting for the largest share of parks and area under floricultural activities.

According to the details, the Directorate of Floriculture Jammu and Kashmir recently released the district wise data of the Union Territory.

As per the district-wise figures for 2024–25, the Union Territory has 531.21 hectares under floriculture activities. Srinagar district alone has 120 parks covering 240.34 hectares, which is the highest both in terms of number of parks and area under floriculture.

In South Kashmir, Anantnag has 30 floriculture parks spread over 116.30 hectares, making it the second-largest district in terms of area under floriculture. Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian together have 16 parks, covering a combined area of about 13.38 hectares.

In Central Kashmir, Budgam has 10 parks with 17.80 hectares under floriculture, while Ganderbal has nine parks spread over 7.35 hectares. Baramulla district in north Kashmir has 16 parks covering 18.61 hectares, followed by Bandipora with six parks spread over 10.95 hectares. Kupwara has four parks with 6.55 hectares under floriculture activities.

In the Jammu region, Jammu district has 41 floriculture parks covering 70.34 hectares, the highest in the region. Udhampur has five parks spread over 8.70 hectares, while Reasi has seven parks with 5.75 hectares under floriculture. Samba has four parks covering 3.15 hectares, and Kathua has six parks spread over 5.75 hectares.

Rajouri has one floriculture park covering 0.70 hectares, while Poonch has two parks spread over 3.80 hectares. Ramban has one park with an area of 1.75 hectares under floriculture.
