Pahalgam, Feb 09: Famous Sri Lankan cricketer, Thisara Perera, who recently visited Pahalgam in South Kashmir, has said that Kashmir’s breathtaking natural beauty left him and his friends spellbound.

Perera, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer KNO, while sharing thoughts about his visit said, “Kashmir’s breathtaking natural beauty left me and others spell bound. I will never forget serene landscapes and warm hospitality of the local people.”

He said that this is an awesome feeling here to be in Pahalgam. “This is my second visit to Kashmir and we really enjoyed it here,” he said, adding, “This kind of weather isn’t available in Sri Lanka so we decided to stay in Kashmir for a few nights,” he said.

“Entire Kashmir is very beautiful but Pahalgam is more beautiful and as a foreigner I am very happy to visit again and again,” he said while urging others to visit Pahalgam.

“Kashmir made us fall in love all over again so we came back” he posted on social media while sharing his moments spent here.

On way to Pahalgam, he took photographs with his fans and locals at different places.

Local residents and tourism stakeholders welcomed the visit saying that such a high profile cricketer visiting Kashmir sends a positive message to the world and helps boost tourism in the region.

“Perera’s visit will definitely send a positive message and we hope it will help to take the tourist rush to peak again,” said Zakir Ahmad a hotelier. (KNO)
