SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 13: Social Welfare Department, Srinagar, through SANKALP–Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti), successfully organized an awareness cum training programme on the Maternal Health with FMPHW’s of District Srinagar Friday at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kothi Bagh, Srinagar.

The programme, as per an official statement, was aimed to educate women, families, and the broader community on the importance of prenatal care, institutional deliveries, postnatal support, and maternal nutrition.

During the programme, healthcare professionals  raised awareness about preventable maternal complications and the importance of timely medical intervention.

The programme commenced with an interactive discussion underscoring that safe motherhood is not merely a health concern but a shared community responsibility. It was stressed that through awareness, education, and early intervention, maternal risks can be significantly minimized, ensuring healthier outcomes for both mothers and newborns.

Reaffirming its commitment to strengthening maternal health services at the grassroots level, the SANKALP–Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti) emphasized that FMPHWs serve as the backbone of primary healthcare delivery in communities. Their dedication, regular field visits, and close engagement with families play a vital role in ensuring that every expectant mother receives timely care, guidance, and support.
