BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 13 : Under the ongoing Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign, the District Task Force (DTF) Bandipora conducted a comprehensive inspection drive in the Ajas and Hajin areas of the district to curb child labour and ensure strict enforcement of child protection laws.
During the drive, as per an official statement, several shops, bakery establishments, and automobile garages were inspected to verify compliance with labour regulations and to identify any minors engaged in work. The initiative was aimed at safeguarding the rights of children and ensuring that they are not deprived of education and a safe childhood.
During the inspection, three minors were identified working in different establishments. The concerned owners were immediately directed to report before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Bandipora for further necessary action as per the legal provisions.
The identified children were counseled on the spot by officials. They were informed that the Department of Mission Vatsalya would provide financial assistance to them. The children were also assured that the department would facilitate their readmission into schools to help them continue their education.
The drive witnessed the active participation of officials from Mission Vatsalya, the Labour Department, District Legal Services Authority, and Bandipora Police, reflecting a coordinated multi-departmental effort to eliminate child labour from the district.
The District Task Force reiterated its commitment to continue such inspection drives in other areas of Bandipora to ensure the protection, rehabilitation, and overall welfare of children.
