DC Ramban reviews arrangements for Mahashivratri celebrations

RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 14: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Saturday chaired a meeting with representatives of religious organisations to review arrangements for the festival of Mahashivratri. The objective was to ensure smooth, safe and harmonious celebrations across the district.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Ramban, Executive Engineers of JPDCL and Jal Shakti, Dy SP Operations, Chief Executive Officers of Municipal Committees and other concerned officers.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that all necessary arrangements, including civil and security measures, have been put in place by the concerned departments in line with the directions issued during earlier meetings.

To maintain sanitation and hygiene, all Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Municipal Committees were instructed to ensure cleanliness in and around temples. The Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) was asked to conduct joint market inspections with Revenue, Police and other departments to monitor quality, prevent overpricing and ensure adequate availability of essential commodities, LPG cylinders and other food items.

The Executive Engineer, JPDCL, was directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Mahashivratri, while the Jal Shakti Department was asked to maintain regular water supply and deploy water tankers wherever required.

The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to ensure the availability of ambulances, adequate medical staff and essential medicines during religious processions and celebrations. Meanwhile, Fire and Emergency Services was directed to deploy fire tenders at key religious locations to ensure a prompt response in case of emergencies.

The Deputy Commissioner resolved issues highlighted by representatives of religious organisations on the spot by issuing necessary directions to the concerned officers.
