Jammu, Feb 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday informed the House that posts of General Line Teachers (GLTs) have remained vacant due to freezing of posts.

Replying to a question tabled by MLA Budgam Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi regarding teaching and non-teaching staff, the government said that vacant posts under promotion quota have been filled up recently.

However, it said that GLT posts under direct recruitment quota cannot be filled in view of the freezing of posts pursuant to Cabinet Decision No. 166/22/2018 dated December 7, 2018, for transition/conversion of RReTs/ReTs to Teacher Grade-II and Grade-III— (KNO)
