SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 18: Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the EESL lights godown to assess the quality standards and stock position of LED street lights being installed within the municipal limits under the Street Lighting Management Programme (SLMP).

The Commissioner, as per an official statement, was accompanied by the Executive Engineer (Electric) and other senior officials from the SMC Electrical Wing during the inspection. The team examined the technical specifications, storage conditions, and inventory records of the lighting materials to ensure strict compliance with approved standards.

Emphasizing robust quality control measures, the Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all LED lights conform to prescribed technical benchmarks to guarantee optimal illumination, enhanced public safety, and long-term durability. He also instructed officials to maintain proper stock registers and implement effective monitoring mechanisms to uphold transparency and accountability in procurement and installation processes.

The inspection underscores SMC’s continued commitment to strengthening urban infrastructure, promoting energy efficiency, and delivering improved civic amenities to the residents of Srinagar under the SLMP.
