Ensure Proper Arrangements For Ramadan

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s detailed review of arrangements for Ramadan across Jammu and Kashmir shows what good governance looks like. By asking all departments to ensure smooth services, strict market checks, and better public facilities, the government has shown it understands that people can worship peacefully only when daily life runs without problems. The instructions given are clear and practical. Making sure there is no power cut during Sehri and Iftar is a thoughtful step. Darkness at these times disturbs not just comfort but the very spirit of prayer and family time. Similarly, ordering water tankers to be sent before Iftar to areas that face water shortage is a caring decision. It ensures that no one breaks their fast feeling thirsty. Strict market inspections to stop hoarding and overpricing are also very important. A holy month should never be a time for cheating customers. By asking shops to display rate lists clearly and taking action against adulteration, the government protects the dignity of common people and ensures they can buy essentials at fair prices. The focus on better cleanliness around mosques and shrines also shows respect for the spiritual experience of worshippers. Instructions to keep hospitals fully staffed during Iftar hours address a long-standing problem where emergency services used to become weak at this time. Better transport arrangements further show that every aspect of public life has been thought about. By holding meetings with district officials through video conferencing and asking different departments to work together, the Chief Minister has ensured these are not just orders on paper, but a well-planned and accountable action plan. With the beginning of the holy month, the people of Jammu and Kashmir can feel assured that their government is working together to make their worship easier. This is governance as service—a partnership between the state and its citizens in the spirit of peace, faith, and community well-being. May this Ramadan bring blessings, kindness, and smooth service to all.
