Jammu, Feb 19: The Government on Thursday informed that 805 youths in Budgam district have received financial assistance under Mission YUVA during 2024–25.

Replying to a question tabled by MLA Chadoora Ali Mohammad Dar, the Labour & Employment Department stated that 5,193 applications were received under Mission YUVA in Budgam for 2025–26 (till February 17, 2026) against a target of 2,223 for the current year.

The government said that during 2024–25, banks sanctioned loans for 968 beneficiaries in the district, out of which 805 cases have been disbursed so far.

Block-wise figures show that the highest number of sanctions were recorded in Budgam, Khan Sahib and Khag blocks, among others.

The government further informed that no application was outrightly denied by banks. Cases returned were sent back for rectification of deficiencies such as incomplete documentation, CIBIL/credit history issues, requirement of additional financial details, or need to strengthen project viability. These cases are subsequently rectified and re-submitted to banks.

It also stated that awareness campaigns, post-sanction support programmes, district-level review meetings and a Control Room at the Directorate level have been established to ensure smooth processing and grievance redressal under the mission—(KNO)
