Calls for strengthening market inspection mechanisms, real-time grievance redressal systems

Srinagar, 20 Feb: The Members of Parliament from Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Friday expressed deep appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the elected government led by Omar Abdullah in ensuring smooth and well-coordinated arrangements during the holy month of Ramzan across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, the NC MPs commended the proactive measures taken by the administration to facilitate uninterrupted power and water supply, availability of essential commodities, sanitation drives, and enhanced market monitoring throughout the month. They said that the government’s responsiveness to public needs during this spiritually significant period has brought much-needed relief and reassurance to the people.

The MPs particularly appreciated the coordination among various departments to ensure that markets remained well-stocked, transport services functioned efficiently and special attention was given to maintaining cleanliness around mosques and major congregational sites. They stated that such people-centric governance reflects sensitivity to the cultural and religious sentiments of the masses.

While acknowledging the positive impact of these initiatives, the MPs urged the government to maintain the same momentum in the coming weeks. They emphasized the need for sustained vigilance to ensure price stability of essential commodities, strict action against hoarding and black marketing, and continued availability of basic utility services, especially electricity and drinking water.

The MPs further called for strengthening market inspection mechanisms and real-time grievance redressal systems so that any disruption in essential services can be promptly addressed. They underlined that economic relief and service stability during Ramzan must translate into long-term administrative efficiency benefiting all sections of society.

Reiterating their party’s commitment to the welfare of the people, the MPs assured full cooperation in supporting measures that promote public convenience, economic stability, and inclusive governance across J&K.

They expressed hope that the administration will continue to prioritise the needs of the common people and build upon the positive steps taken during Ramzan to ensure sustained development and public satisfaction.
