Srinagar, Mar 06: Tawseef Ahmad Ganaie from Puchal area of in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has brought laurels to his family and the entire region after securing All India Rank 254 in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination, the results of which were declared today.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Tawseef said that his journey towards the civil services began during his college days and that consistent effort over the years helped him achieve success.

“I completed my graduation in 2022 and started preparing for the UPSC examination during my graduation itself. This was my third attempt, and I am grateful that my hard work finally paid off,” he said.

Currently working as a veterinary surgeon and posted in the Pir Panchal region, Tawseef said balancing a demanding job with UPSC preparation was not easy but became manageable because he had already built a strong academic foundation earlier.

“Obviously, it is difficult to manage a job and prepare for UPSC at the same time. However, since I had already started preparing during my college days, most of the basic syllabus was covered before I joined the job. During my service, I mainly focused on revision, which made things comparatively easier than starting preparation from scratch,” he said.

He emphasized that determination and consistency are key factors for success in competitive examinations.

“I want to tell aspiring candidates that no examination is impossible to crack. If you genuinely want to succeed and are ready to put in consistent efforts, then success will eventually come. Hard work, patience and continuity are the most important factors,” Tawseef said.

Encouraging young people from Kashmir to aim high, he said the youth in the region possess immense potential but often hesitate due to the perceived difficulty of competitive examinations.

“Kashmiri youth are very talented, but sometimes they feel intimidated just by hearing the name of such examinations. That mindset needs to change. With dedication, perseverance and consistency, anyone can achieve their goals,” he said, adding that if he could manage to succeed despite professional responsibilities, others could also do the same.

Meanwhile, Tawseef’s father, Mohammad Ishaq Ganaie, expressed immense pride and happiness over his son’s achievement.

He said Tawseef began his education at Hajad Public School Awantipora and later continued his studies at Government Higher Secondary School Noorpora Awantipora.

“He initially appeared for the NEET examination but could not qualify. Later, he pursued Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and gradually started preparing for prestigious competitive examinations like UPSC,” his father said.

He added that Tawseef’s success has brought immense joy not only to the family but also to the entire locality.

“There is a festive atmosphere at our home today. Relatives, friends and neighbors are visiting us to congratulate Tawseef. The entire area is extremely happy and proud of his achievement,” he said. (KNO)
