52 vehicles challaned, 11 seized & Rs 1.14 lakh penalty imposed
RAJOURI, MARCH 07: A traffic enforcement drive was conducted by the Motor Vehicle Department under the supervision of ARTO Rajouri Rajesh Gupta at different locations across the district including Rajouri town, Manjakote, Dhangri and along NH-144A to ensure compliance with traffic rules and enhance road safety.
During the drive, a total of 260 vehicles were checked by the enforcement team. 52 vehicles were challaned for various violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and a penalty amounting to ₹1.14 lakh was imposed.
The team, as per an official statement, further seized 11 vehicles, including three two-wheelers, one tempo and seven e-autos for serious violations. Additionally, two driving licences were recommended for suspension for grave traffic offences.
The ARTO reiterated that such drives will continue in the district to curb violations and maintain traffic discipline
