DC Poonch reviews progress of work on Eklavya Model Residential School

POONCH, MARCH 15: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, chaired a meeting to review the progress of work on Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1594.99 lakh at Behra Mendhar.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by SDM Mendhar, Executive Engineer PWD Mendhar, Executive Engineer PWD Poonch, Chief Planning Officer, Principal EMRS Behra Mendhar, AEE PWD Mendhar and the concerned Junior Engineer (JE).

During the meeting, the progress of various components of the project was reviewed in detail. It was informed that out of 15 components of the building project, 8 components have been completed and handed over, while work on the remaining 7 components is in progress.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the PWD authorities to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion of the remaining components at the earliest. He further instructed the Principal EMRS and Executive Engineer PWD to submit a detailed estimate of the remaining works of the project.

The DC also emphasized the need to include infrastructure development works such as construction of the compound wall, approach road, internal paths, finishing of the remaining building components and other allied works to ensure the timely  completion of the prestigious educational project.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that the project holds significant importance for providing quality residential education facilities to tribal students of the region. He directed all concerned departments to work in coordination for its early completion.
