Jammu, Mar 17: Demonstrating commitment towards passenger safety and service, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has once again set an example through the prompt and commendable actions of its ticket checking staff.

Working under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, the staff has been actively contributing not only to passenger convenience but also to security across trains.

In a notable incident on March 17, ticket checking staff member Sandeep Kumar, posted at Pathankot headquarters, apprehended two mobile thieves near Narwana station.

The accused were caught red-handed while attempting to steal a passenger’s mobile phone in Coach S-1 of Train No. 14035 (Dhauladhar Express).

Acting swiftly, he handed them over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel onboard for further legal action. The passenger later expressed gratitude and appreciated the staff’s alertness and bravery.

In another instance, ticket checking staff aboard Train No. 14803 successfully traced and returned a lost mobile phone belonging to a passenger traveling in Coach B-2. The passenger thanked the staff for their timely assistance and honesty.

Officials stated that under the leadership of the Divisional Railway Manager and the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, the Commercial Department of Jammu Division continues to play a vital role not only in revenue generation but also in strengthening passenger safety and trust.

Commending the efforts, Uchit Singhal lauded the staff for their dedication and professionalism.

He expressed hope that they would continue to serve with the same commitment, adding that such acts set an inspiring example for others in the railway system—(KNO)
