CM Omar hosts Iftaar in Srinagar

Emphasises unity, compassion

Srinagar, Mar 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday hosted Iftaar at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre here, bringing together people from different walks of life in the spirit of harmony and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Iftaar was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javid Ahmad Dar and Satish Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, legislators, senior civil and police officers, religious scholars, representatives of civil society and members of the media. The gathering reflected the inclusive ethos and communal harmony that Jammu and Kashmir has long been known for.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister extended his warm greetings to the people and said that the holy month of Ramadan symbolises compassion, patience and generosity.

Omar Abdullah also prayed for lasting peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed hope that the sacred month would further strengthen the spirit of unity and social cohesion across communities.

The Chief Minister interacted with the guests and exchanged greetings with them on the occasion. The attendees appreciated the initiative, describing it as a meaningful gesture that brings people together and reinforces the spirit of goodwill during the holy month.

The evening concluded with special prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
