BARAMULLA, MARCH 18: The three-day capacity-building programme for Charge and additional charge officers being conducted in connection with the forthcoming Census of India 2027, Wednesday entered its 2nd day at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Baramulla.

The training sessions were conducted by Master Trainers and District Coordinators from the Directorate of Census Operations, Jammu and Kashmir.

The programme, as per an official statement, was attended by the senior district officers, tehsildars from across all 18 tehsils, and other officials associated with census operations.

Day–2 of the programme focused on strengthening the operational readiness of the Charge Officers for Phase–I of the Census, i.e., the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), which lays the groundwork for the entire enumeration exercise.

Expert trainers and National Level Master Trainers conducted in-depth sessions on field-level implementation strategies, effective supervision techniques, and the use of digital tools for real-time data collection.

Emphasis was laid on ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting of data through robust monitoring mechanisms.

Participants were also engaged in practical demonstrations and interactive discussions aimed at addressing field challenges and enhancing their understanding of prescribed schedules, formats, and guidelines.
