Jammu, Oct 17: Indian Railways has made extensive preparations in view of the upcoming festivals and to provide a safe and comfortable travel experience to passengers, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal said on Friday.

Singhal conducted a detailed inspection of Jammu Railway Station on Friday. The primary objective of the inspection was to review the facilities available for passengers and assess the security arrangements.

Key Points Focused During the Inspection

* During the inspection at Jammu Railway Station, the availability of drinking water for passengers, the cleanliness of toilets, and the condition of waiting rooms were checked, and all staff working there were given necessary instructions regarding their work.

* The help desk and information display boards installed at the station for the guidance of passengers were also inspected.

* Keeping security in mind, the inspection also ensured that adequate security forces were deployed. Surveillance has been increased on the station premises through luggage scanners, metal detectors, and ample CCTV cameras.

* The ticket inspector and enquiry office at the station were also thoroughly inspected. All staff present there were strictly instructed to remain vigilant during their work and make frequent announcements regarding trains and platforms for passengers.

* In view of the expected rush of passengers during the festive season, the inspection also ensured that the elevators and escalators function smoothly and safely, so that passengers do not face any inconvenience or risk.

* The Senior Divisional Commercial Manager inspected all the stalls at the station, including the quality of food, hygiene standards, display of licenses, and prescribed rates. He also ensured that all vendors were wearing their uniforms and following all hygiene rules.

During his inspection at the station, Uchit Singhal paid close attention to all the standard amenities available for passengers. To control the heavy rush and maintain uninterrupted train operations, he issued necessary instructions to all railway employees. He appealed to passengers not to carry firecrackers, matches, or any inflammable material during their journey and to contact the Railway Protection Force (RPF) or call the 139 helpline if they notice any suspicious activity.
