JAMMU, MARCH 30: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary on Monday extended his warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
He said that the festival holds immense religious and cultural significance, especially for the Jain community, and is celebrated with deep devotion to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavira.
The Deputy Chief Minister, as per an official statement, highlighted the timeless teachings of Lord Mahavira, emphasizing non-violence, compassion, truth, and peaceful coexistence as guiding principles for a harmonious society.
He urged people to seek blessings on this sacred day and reaffirm their commitment to strengthening brotherhood, harmony, and mutual respect among all communities.
He further said that Jammu and Kashmir has always stood as a shining example of communal harmony, where people actively participate in each other’s festivals with great fervour and unity.
The Deputy Chief Minister expressed hope that the occasion would inspire everyone to work collectively towards peace, prosperity, and inclusive development.
