Jammu, Mar 31: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the government is determined to fill 25000 vacancies this year.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour, the Chief Minister emphasised that the government is firm in its resolve to complete the recruitment process within the year.

“This matter has been discussed several times during this session, including during the discussions on the LG’s speech, the budget, and grants,” he said while responding to questions from MLA Pulwama, Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The Chief Minister further said the government is keen to ensure the recruitment process remains transparent and time-bound.

“Time-bound does not mean that the process should be conducted in a hurried manner, which could result in the matter reaching the courts and the process being halted,” he explained.

He further said, “We have seen several selection lists being framed and then challenged in the courts. In many cases, it took a long time to resolve the matter, and applicants became overage and could not be recruited. We want to maintain a balance in this matter.”

While raising concerns over unemployment, the PDP legislator called for a time-bound recruitment process along with a transparent recruitment policy. He also expressed concern over the leaking of examination papers. (KNO)
