KULGAM, APRIL 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, Wednesday chaired a meeting with concerned officers and stakeholders, including representatives of transporters, to review and ensure the smooth flow of traffic across the district.

During the meeting, as per an official statement, various issues related to traffic management, road congestion, parking facilities and regulation of transport services were discussed in detail.

 The DC stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among departments and transport stakeholders to streamline vehicular movement and minimize inconvenience to the public.

Representatives of the transporters also shared their concerns and suggestions regarding traffic regulation, passenger management and operational challenges. The DC assured that all genuine issues would be examined and addressed in a phased manner.

Shahzad Alam directed the concerned departments to strengthen traffic management measures, ensure proper enforcement of traffic rules and create designated parking spaces at key locations to ease congestion.

He also emphasized the need for public cooperation and urged transporters to strictly adhere to traffic regulations for maintaining smooth and hassle-free movement of vehicles in the district.

The meeting was attended by ARTO and other officers from concerned departments, traffic authorities and representatives of transport unions.
