LG Sinha orders magisterial probe into Ganderbal encounter

District Magistrate to complete probe in 7 days, submit report to Home Dept

Srinagar, Apr 03: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial probe into the killing of an alleged terrorist in an encounter in the Arhama area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

In a post on X, office of LG, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), informed that he has ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into Arhama, Ganderbal incident.

“The inquiry will examine all aspects related to the incident and ensure that justice is served,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a communication to the District Magistrate Ganderbal the Under Secretary to the government the issue has been examined and accordingly, you are requested to get a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry.

The magistrate has been asked to ascertain the facts and circumstances leading to the death of Raashid Ahmad Mughal son of Late Gull Zaman Mughal.

He has been directed to complete the inquiry within 7 days and submit the report to the Home Department. (KNO)
