Srinagar, Apr 06: Traffic Police on Monday said the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained blocked in Ramban district due to landslides and shooting stones.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the highway remained blocked between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote in Ramban, and restoration work is underway. “A decision on reopening will be taken after assessing the road condition,” he added.

He said the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag Road has been closed for vehicular movement following orders issued by the district administration.

On Tuesday, he said, the traffic on Srinagar-Leh Highway  will be allowed from Srinagar towards Kargil for LMVs and HMVs carrying essential goods, subject to fair weather and road clearance.

No vehicle will be allowed after the cut-off timing, and movement will depend on conditions along the Zojila axis, the official added.

The Mughal Road will remain open for limited traffic, with only stranded vehicles permitted to move from Shopian towards Poonch during specified hours. No movement will be allowed after the cut-off time.

The advisory said commuters should undertake journeys only after confirming the road status, as the overall situation remains weather-dependent. (KNO)
