BARAMULLA, APRIL 18: As part of the ongoing 100 Days Intensified Campaign under Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of impactful awareness and outreach activities were carried out across District Baramulla to reinforce the message of a drug-free society.
Continuing the district-wide efforts, multiple programmes were organized to engage different sections of the community and spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
In a significant initiative, the Psychiatry Department of Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla conducted a day-long interactive session with individuals who have successfully recovered from substance abuse.
The session, as per an official statement, provided a platform for open dialogue, where participants shared their personal journeys, challenges, and the importance of timely intervention, counselling, and community support in overcoming addiction.
Simultaneously, a number of awareness programmes and rallies were conducted across various educational institutions in collaboration with the Police Department where students were sensitized about the dangers of drug abuse, legal implications, and the importance of making informed life choices.
Adding further momentum to the campaign, Municipal Council Baramulla and Municipal Council Sopore, in collaboration with the Information Department Baramulla, conducted extensive Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities through mobile IEC vans.
These vans traversed key areas of the towns throughout the day, disseminating awareness messages through audio-visual content, and public announcements, ensuring maximum outreach among the general public.
