SHOPIAN, APRIL 18: In continuation of the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, District Administration Shopian Saturday launched a sticker pasting and awareness drive in Shopian aimed at sensitizing transporters and the general public about the dangers of drug abuse.
The initiative, as per an official statement, was formally inaugurated by the Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, at Sumo Stand Gagren, where awareness stickers carrying anti drug messages were pasted on commercial vehicles to promote widespread public awareness.
The drive driven by the Department of Social Welfare and Motor Vehicles , specifically targeting drivers and transport operators, recognizing their crucial role in community outreach and daily public interaction.
The initiative forms part of a series of ongoing efforts by the district administration to strengthen public awareness and ensure wider outreach of the campaign, with a focus on preventive measures and community participation to curb drug abuse.
Dy.SP Headquarters, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, District Social Welfare Officer Shopian, Ibrar Hussain, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
