Srinagar, Oct 21: Srinagar Police on Tuesday conducted surprise frisking drives in and around the City’s commercial hub, Lal Chowk, checking vehicles and pedestrians on Tuesday.

Witnesses told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that multiple police teams were deployed at key junctions where random checking of vehicles and bags was carried out.

The drive, officials said, was part of regular security measures to ensure peace and order in the heart of the city.

An official said the exercise was aimed at maintaining alertness and ensuring that no untoward element disturbs the city’s calm. (KNO)
