SHOPIAN, APRIL 23: In a significant step towards enhancing citizen centric services, the Mobile Passport Seva services were inaugurated Thursday by the Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta at Mini Secretariat Shopian.

The inauguration was held in the presence of Regional Passport Officer Srinagar, B.S. Rawat and other officers and officials of district administration and Regional Passport Office, Srinagar.

The initiative brought passport services closer to the public, benefiting more than 50 applicants of the district on day one. A dedicated team from the Regional Passport Office Srinagar was present on the occasion to facilitate smooth operations. The Mobile Passport Van service will be held for two days, during which more than 100 applicants have booked appointments to avail passport related services.

During the programme, feedback was actively collected from applicants regarding their experience. It was assured that such Mobile Passport Van services will be organized regularly in the district, depending upon the demand from the local public, to ensure continued accessibility and convenience for the public.

Technical support for the camp was provided by NIC, ensuring seamless processing and coordination.

The initiative received an encouraging response, with applicants appreciating the effort and expressing the need for such services to be conducted more frequently in the district.
