Elderly man dies after hit by motorcycle in Bijbehara

Bijbehara, Apr 25: A 60-year-old man died after being hit by a motorcycle in the Thajiwara area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03Q-2738 struck a pedestrian, leaving him critically injured.

He said the injured man was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was later identified as Ghulam Rasool Dar (65), son of Mohammad Ramzan, a resident of Thajiwara. The body is presently lying at SDH Bijbehara.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (KNO)
