BANDIPORA, APRIL 29: An awareness-cum-sports kit distribution programme was Wednesday organized at Girls Middle School (GMS) Bandipora by SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.
The programme, as per an official statement, witnessed active participation of students, most of whom belong to underprivileged backgrounds. During the session, awareness was imparted on the importance of sports for physical fitness, building confidence, and fostering teamwork. Students were also informed about various government schemes aimed at the welfare and empowerment of children, particularly girls.
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative focuses on promoting education, protection, and empowerment of the girl child through sustained community awareness and outreach.
On the occasion, sports kits including cricket, football, badminton and other items were distributed among the students to encourage their active participation in sports and extracurricular activities.
