BANDIPORA, MAY 05: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Screening Committee to review and finalize departmental proposals under the Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) for identified border villages in the district.
During the meeting, various departments presented action plans for approval under VVP-II, focusing on infrastructure development, renewable energy, education, healthcare, disaster management, skill development, public utilities, and livelihood generation initiatives.
Detailed discussions were held on proposals aimed at strengthening educational institutions, healthcare facilities, rural infrastructure, power supply, water conservation, disaster preparedness, tourism promotion, and employment generation in the identified villages.
The Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, stressed the importance of practical, sustainable, and community-oriented project planning under the programme. She directed departments to ensure proper convergence, avoid duplication of works, and prioritize projects that directly benefit the local population while improving essential services in remote border areas.
Emphasizing coordinated implementation, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth execution of approved works under VVP-II.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora, officers from various line departments, and other concerned officials.
