SHOPIAN, MAY 07: Under the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, a series of awareness and outreach activities were organized across various educational institutions and public spaces of district Shopian to educate youth and the general public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Awareness programmes and counselling sessions, as per an official statement, were conducted at AWC DK Pora, Zone Harman; Polytechnic College Shopian, and Government Middle School Heerpora by AHWC Heerpora, where participants were sensitized about substance abuse and measures to prevent addiction.

The Department of AYUSH Shopian also organized awareness programmes under the campaign. After administering the anti drug pledge, students were educated about the ill effects of drug abuse.

Guest lectures, storytelling sessions, and pledge ceremonies were organized at various institutions including GHS Heff Shirmal and other schools across the district.

Students actively participated in storytelling activities highlighting the negative impact of drug addiction on individuals, families and society.

Meanwhile, MC Shopian and the Department of Labour also carried out awareness initiatives as part of the campaign.

Industrial units were encouraged to support the movement by displaying anti drug messages on their official invoices to strengthen public outreach and awareness.
