SHOPIAN, MAY 11: Diverse range of awareness and outreach events numbering in hundreds were Monday conducted across district Shopian under the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, witnessing proactive participation of students, youth, teachers, cooperative societies members, government departments and civil society members.
The day-long campaign, as per an official statement, featured pledge ceremonies, group discussions, sports activities, yoga sessions, poster display campaigns, painting and counselling sessions, seminars & debates and public interaction and awareness programmes aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
Educational institutions across the district actively participated by organizing anti-drug awareness talks, sports activities and assembly sessions to encourage students towards positive and healthy lifestyles.
Similarly, members of cooperative societies, lambardars and other frontline workers also participated in engagement and outreach activities in public spaces especially in business units, market places, medical shops, petrol pumps, playgrounds etc.
Special awareness drives and outreach programmes were also carried out by various government departments including RDD, Revenue, Poshan Projects, Ayush, Co-operative, Agri allied departments, and other departments as part of the awareness campaign.
