BUDGAM, MAY 20: Marking a significant milestone for the regional infrastructure, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, Wednesday officially inaugurated a newly constructed double lane 25-meter bridge with total width of 11.70 meter at Chowdrigund on Nallah Apzari, Chadoora.

The bridge, constructed with an estimated cost of 474.65 lakh, is set to drastically improve the local connectivity, ease commutes and stimulate economic activity in the region.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Speaker, as per an official statement, emphasized that establishing a robust connectivity network is the cornerstone of sustainable growth. He reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to transform the regional landscape through strategic infrastructure projects.

“Connectivity is absolutely crucial for holistic development of our region,” Speaker Rather stated. “A bridge does more than connect two pieces of land; it links people to markets, healthcare, education and better opportunities. Our government is dedicated to ensure equitable development of all areas, ensuring that no region or community is left behind”, he added.

The newly inaugurated double lane bridge addresses a long-standing demand of the local residents, promising to reduce travel time and provide all-weather access to essential services.

During the event, Rather assured the public that the government would continue to prioritize under-developed pockets, focusing on balanced progress, fair resource allocation and the timely completion of vital public welfare projects.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by SE R&B Erim Lone along with senior officials from R&B and PMGSY besides local dignitaries, and members of the community, who welcomed the development as a major step forward for the area.
