SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Saturday undertook a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Makhoom(RA) and Sharika Devi Temple atop Hari Parbat to assess the plan of developmental and beautification works in and around these historic sites.

The DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; SDM East, Zubair Ahmad; Executive Engineers from R&B, Water Works Division, City Roads Division, and KPDCL, Tehsildar Khanyar and other concerned officers.

At the Makhdoom Sahib Shrine, the DC took note of the plan of development and beautification works aimed at improving public amenities and facilities for devotees.

He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely submission of the plan for upgradation and developmental works while maintaining the sanctity and heritage of the site.

The DC emphasized coordinated efforts among departments for smooth execution.

Later, the DC visited the Sharika Devi Temple atop Hari Parbat and reviewed the plan of beautification and upgradation, planned to be carried out at the site. He instructed the executing agencies to expedite the submission of the plan and ensure that quality standards are maintained, keeping in view the significance of the temple for devotees and visitors.

The DC further directed the Officers to carry out necessary landscaping and renovation works at both the religious places, besides improving basic facilities.

DC Bla flags off rally under Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0

BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 25: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Saturday flagged off a rally from the Old Hospital complex Baramulla (CMO Office) under the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0, an initiative aimed at creating awareness against tobacco use among youth.

The campaign, being organized by the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla under the aegis of the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir and National Health Mission, seeks to prevent initiation of tobacco use among youth, promote cessation among users, and strengthen enforcement of tobacco control laws.

Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Dr. A.G. Raina, District Health Officer, Dr. Bhajan Kour and other officials were present on the occasion.

Students of ANMT School and officials participated enthusiastically in the rally, raising slogans and holding placards to spread the message of a tobacco-free society.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the need for collective efforts to discourage tobacco consumption and protect youth from its harmful effects. He appreciated the Health Department for organizing such awareness activities and urged continued community participation in the campaign.
