SHOPIAN, JUNE 02: As part of the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan (NMJKA), a series of awareness and outreach activities were conducted across various educational institutions, business establishments, workplaces, and public spaces in Shopian district to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, addiction-free society.
The awareness programmes witnessed active participation from students, teachers, shopkeepers, cold store workers, employees, and members of the local community.
During the activities, participants, as per an official statement, were sensitized about the social, economic, and health-related consequences of substance abuse and were encouraged to play an active role in preventing drug addiction within their families and communities.
Awareness rallies, yoga sessions, pledge-taking ceremonies, interactive sessions, distribution of awareness material, and community outreach programmes were organized at different locations.
The participants collectively pledged to remain vigilant against the menace of drugs and to contribute towards creating a safer and healthier environment for future generations.
The campaign highlighted the vital role of awareness, education, and community engagement in addressing the challenge of substance abuse. Participants were encouraged to act as ambassadors of change and spread the message of a drug-free society within their respective communities.
