KATHUA, JUNE 13: The J&K SC ST and BC Development Corporation, in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), New Delhi, organised an awareness camp at Chak Sardar Desa Singh, Kathua, to sensitise participants about financial assistance schemes aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Member of Legislative Assembly Kathua Dr Bharat Bhushan graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Among those present were Managing Director J&K SC ST and BC Development Corporation Ranjeet Singh, Deputy General Manager Naveen Sharma and District Manager Kathua Jatinder Singh, along with a large number of participants.
Participants were apprised of various loan and financial assistance schemes being implemented by the Corporation to support youth in establishing income-generating units, including education loan schemes for children available at marginal rates of interest.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA, as per an official statement, urged the youth to come forward and avail the benefits of schemes offered by the Corporation and other departments for establishing sustainable livelihood opportunities. Managing Director Ranjeet Singh encouraged the youth to focus on entrepreneurship and establish their own income-generating units rather than depending solely on government employment.
Officials from the Employment Department and KVIB also briefed participants about schemes available for SC, ST and other eligible beneficiaries to promote self-employment and livelihood generation.
The camp concluded with an interactive session in which officials addressed queries regarding eligibility, procedures and benefits of various schemes.
