KULGAM, JUNE 15: A comprehensive review meeting of the Education Sector was held Monday under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kulgam, Altaf Ahmad Khan.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kulgam, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), and other concerned officers and officials of the Education Department.

During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding the implementation and impact of JOY Classes, status of educational infrastructure, dropout rates, gender-wise enrolment ratio, and other key educational indicators across the district.

The Chair emphasized the need to strengthen efforts aimed at improving learning outcomes and ensuring access to quality education for all students. He directed the Chief Education Officer and field functionaries to closely monitor academic activities and undertake regular inspections of educational institutions to assess the quality of education being imparted.

The meeting also reviewed the availability of basic infrastructure in schools, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries, smart classrooms, sanitation facilities, and other essential amenities. Directions were issued to identify infrastructure gaps and submit proposals for their timely redressal.

Special focus was laid on reducing dropout rates and ensuring the re-enrolment of out-of-school children. The Chair stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced gender enrolment ratio and promoting inclusive education across all educational institutions in the district.

Reviewing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, the AADC directed the concerned officers to ensure strict monitoring of the scheme at every level. He emphasized adherence to prescribed nutritional standards, maintenance of hygiene, timely supply of food items, and regular inspections to ensure effective implementation of the programme.

The Chair called upon all officers to work in a coordinated manner for achieving the educational goals of the district and reiterated the administration’s commitment towards strengthening the education sector and improving academic standards in all schools of Kulgam.

The meeting concluded with directions to the concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of all educational initiatives and submit periodic progress reports for review.
