Shopian admin holds Block Diwas at Imam Sahib

SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 29: As part of the ongoing public outreach/grievance redressal programme under the Weekly Block Diwas initiative, the District Administration Shopian Wednesday organised Block Diwas at Block Headquarters Imam Sahib.

The event was presided over by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of senior citizens, youth and a large number of locals who raised various demands and grievances of public importance which includes, construction/repairs of lanes and drains, providing of portable water facility, installation of Transformers and Solar lights in uncovered areas, road connectivity, especially Hendow High School road, Aadkhar Wasuwal link road, Tuldren DK pora road, desilting of Gund Nallah, etc.

During the proceedings, the ADDC listened to several public issues projected by the locals and directions were passed on the spot to the concerned departments for immediate action on various demands/grievances related to improvement of basic amenities, upgradation of roads, augmentation of drinking water supply, and strengthening of health and education infrastructure.

Speaking on occasion, the ADDC reiterated the commitment of the district administration towards ensuring time-bound redressal of public grievances and equitable development of all areas of the district.

The ADDC also urged the officers to maintain close coordination with the public to ensure effective implementation of all developmental projects and welfare schemes.

Officers from various departments including Revenue, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Health, R&B, Jal Shakti, KPDCL, Poshan Abhiyaan and other line departments attended the event and briefed the public about different welfare and development schemes being implemented in their areas.
