Rajouri man found dead inside tent in Pulwama

Pulwama, Jun 29: A man from Rajouri was found dead after his body was recovered from inside a tent in the Deeri area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the man was found hanging from a wooden beam inside the tent in the Deeri area, following which police rushed to the spot.

He said the body was taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, including a post-mortem examination.

The deceased was later identified as Imtiyaz Hussain Chichi, son of Mohd Sadiq Chichi, a resident of Rajouri who was presently residing in Deeri, Pulwama.

Meanwhile, police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ascertain the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the death. (KNO)
