Kashmiris must learn from Iran: Dr Farooq
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

Tangmarg, July 03: Urging Kashmiris to draw lessons from Iran’s unity and pray for the success of the Omar Abdullah led government, National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Friday said a nation can succeed only when its people remain united.

Addressing a public gathering here in North Kashmir, Dr Farooq, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said there was no reason to fear anyone as “Allah alone is the supreme power.” He appealed to people to seek the Almighty’s guidance for peace, prosperity and progress and pray that the present government is blessed with the wisdom and strength to serve the people effectively.

“A nation succeeds only when its people stand together. Iran showed the power of unity despite facing immense external pressure. Kashmiris should also remain united because nothing can be achieved without collective resolve,” he said.

Referring to the global situation, Abdullah said several Muslim countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Lebanon, were facing difficult times. He said the challenges confronting the Muslim world were a reminder that people must remain steadfast on the path of Almighty Allah.

He said Iran demonstrated resilience by standing united against the United States, adding that the country’s people stood firmly with their nation despite the odds.

“Until people show resistance and unity, nothing can be achieved. Unity is our greatest strength,” Dr Farooq said—(KNO)
