SRINAGAR, JULY 24: Food & Drugs Administration (FDA) conducted 118 inspections of Food Business Establishments and lifted 54 enforcement samples of various food articles for laboratory analysis to assess their quality and safety.
In addition, 16 surveillance samples, as per an official statement, were lifted from ICDS Centres to assess the quality and safety of food being served to beneficiaries. Three Improvement Notices were also issued to Food Business Operators for deficiencies observed during the inspections.
Further, FDA, J&K, has conducted 1,642 inspections with effect from 1st July 2026 till date and lifted 878 enforcement samples and 223 surveillance samples, comprising of 250 samples of Milk and Milk Products, 217 samples of Oils and Fats, 178 samples of Cereals and Cereal Products, 243 samples of Spices, and samples of other food commodities. 89 Improvement Notices were also issued to Food Business Operators.
