SRINAGAR JULY 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Tuesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting in his Office Chamber to evaluate the implementation of key health schemes in District, with a focus on expanding outreach of Vay Vandana Yojana to achieve 100% senior citizens ( Above 70 years) coverage and reviewing the  progress under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, District TB Officer Dr Abdul Rouf, Medical Superintendents of SMHS Hospital, JLNM Hospital and CD Hospital, Block Medical Officer Hazrabal, all Zonal Medical Officers of Srinagar District, CSC District Manager and other concerned.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on dedicated outreach efforts in all tertiary care hospitals and all Medical Block/Zones of the district to achieve 100% enrolment of eligible individuals aged 70 and above so that they receive the additional benefit of Rs 5 lakh free health treatment. He directed Block and Zonal Medical Officers, along with other concerned Officials to organize outreach camps to mobilize beneficiaries in their respective jurisdiction to ensure that no eligible individual is deprived of affordable and free healthcare services in the district.

The DC also assessed the Tuberculosis (TB) control measures and implementation of TB presumptive testing, surveillance and initiatives to enhance screening and treatment across the District.

The DC called for enhanced inter-departmental coordination and stronger community outreach under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The DC also reviewed the initiatives undertaken to strengthen patient care and enhance healthcare delivery across the District.

Stressing the need for a patient-first approach, he directed health Officers to ensure the delivery of quality, accessible and responsive healthcare services at all health institutions. He emphasized maintaining high standards of service delivery to ensure timely and efficient medical care for every patient.
