Body of youth retrieved from Jhelum after five days

Srinagar, Jul 28: The body of a 25-year-old youth, who had jumped into the River Jhelum at Sempora in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar, was retrieved on Tuesday after a five-day-long search operation, officials said.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body of the youth was recovered by teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) during the search operation near Pantha Chowk Srinagar.

They said the operation was jointly carried out by the SDRF Srinagar and local volunteers. The deceased was identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir (25), a resident of Balhama, Srinagar.

The officials said the body has been handed over to the police for medico-legal formalities and further necessary proceedings. (KNO)
