BANDIPORA, AUGUST 12: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026 and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram, a number of Tiranga Rallies and patriotic activities were held across Bandipora district Wednesday, witnessing enthusiastic participation of students, officers, officials and people from different sections of society.
In Sumbal, a Tiranga Rally was organised from Irrigation Colony, Sumbal, to Degree College, Sumbal. The rally was attended by SDM Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh, SDPO Sumbal, Tehsildar Sumbal and Hajin, SHO Sumbal, Commandant 45 Battalion Sumbal, ZEO Sumbal, Executive Engineers of PDD, Irrigation & Flood Control and R&B Departments, besides officers and officials from various departments, members of civil society, President Traders Federation Sumbal, President Senior Citizens Council Sumbal, students, Lumberdars and Chowkidars.
Participants, as per an official statement, carried the National Flag with pride, reinforcing the message of unity and national pride.
In Gurez, a Tiranga Rally was held from the Sports Ground of Government Degree College Gurez to Sumo Stand. The rally was led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad, accompanied by Tehsildar Gurez, Block Development Officer Gurez and other officials. Officers, officials and local residents participated in the rally with patriotic enthusiasm, carrying the Tricolour and reaffirming the spirit of national unity in the frontier valley.
A Tiranga Rally was also held at Habba Khatoon Stadium, Dawar.
As part of the celebrations, people also participated in Selfie with Tiranga activities at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora and S.K. Stadium Bandipora, expressing their pride and respect for the National Flag.
Tiranga rallies and related activities were also held with the participation of Block Bonakoot, Block Gurez, Block Arin, Block Hajin, Block Bandipora and Block Nowgam, besides NRLM Bandipora, Department of Agriculture Bandipora, Municipal Council Bandipora, PDD Bandipora, RSETI Bandipora, Poshan Project Gurez and other departments and institutions.
The Department of AYUSH, Bandipora, participated through awareness sessions, Yoga activities and Tiranga Rallies, sensitising students and community members about the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and respect for the National Flag.
A Tiranga Mahotsav was also organised at the Agriculture Complex, Bandipora, as part of the campaign.
At Government Middle School Kehnoosa, a morning Yoga session was conducted as part of the Tiranga campaign, with 126 participants taking part.
The Ayush Health and Wellness Centre Onagam, Bandipora, in collaboration with Government Middle School Onagam, organised an awareness camp as part of the prelude to Independence Day celebrations. The camp addressed issues concerning youth, including mental health challenges and drug abuse, with emphasis on holistic health and a healthy India. National Flags were also distributed among students to foster patriotism and reinforce the values of unity and responsibility.
At Government Girls Middle School, Quil Muqam, SANKALP HEW, Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare, Bandipora, organised a day-long International Youth Day programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign in collaboration with the Education Department. The programme was attended by the ZEO, Education Department officials, teachers, SANKALP HEW staff and students.
A mega distribution of educational kits among girl students was conducted to encourage education and support their learning needs. Under Har Ghar Tiranga, students participated in Tiranga awareness activities and a rally, while Har Ghar Tiranga pamphlets were distributed to spread awareness about the significance of the National Flag. The programme also featured cultural activities and awareness speeches focusing on girl child education, empowerment, patriotism and youth participation in nation-building.
The district-wide activities reflected widespread public participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026 and reinforced the message of patriotism, unity, respect for the National Flag and collective participation in the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
