DODA, NOVEMBER 1: The district administration Doda, in collaboration with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu & Kashmir Saturday organized a Vigilance Awareness Week event at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex for the officials of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited – JPDCL.
The program themed “Say No to Corruption” was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anil Kumar Thakur.
The event was attended by ASP Mohammad Aslam; DySP ACB Imran Malik; Inspector ACB, XEN JPDCL, AEE, JEEs, officials of the power department and members of civil society.
In his address, the ADC highlighted the importance of honesty, transparency and sincerity in public service. He appreciated the proactive efforts of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta in maintaining a strong check on corruption and ensuring accountability across departments. He urged all participants to cultivate a culture of integrity and involve the community in eliminating corruption from society.
The ADC assured that the District Administration will extend full support to the JPDCL staff in addressing challenges faced during field operations and reiterated the commitment to uphold integrity and transparency in all public services.
DySP ACB Imran Malik delivered an informative PowerPoint presentation on vigilance mechanisms and preventive measures. A documentary featuring messages from the Prime Minister of India and Lieutenant Governor of J&K was screened, highlighting the significance of vigilance, honesty and integrity in governance. An online poll was also conducted to assess public opinion on corruption and ethical conduct in administration.
Additionally, AEE JPDCL Doda presented a detailed presentation on the department’s achievements, especially under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)
The Inspector ACB elaborated on various forms of corruption, statutory functions, penalties for negligence and real cases identified in the power sector. He advised JPDCL to strengthen its internal vigilance cell for better monitoring and prevention of malpractices.
The Vigilance Awareness Week event culminated with a collective pledge by the participants vowing to remain vigilant, promote ethical behavior and contribute towards building a corruption-free society
