DC Budgam reviews progress under Mission YUVA, HADP, JKCIP & PMFBY

BUDGAM, AUGUST 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Saturday reviewed implementation and progress under Mission YUVA, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in the district.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, called for fast-track processing, sanctioning and timely disbursal of cases under Mission YUVA. He directed the concerned departments and agencies to ensure that eligible aspiring entrepreneurs receive the benefits under the scheme without unnecessary delay.

The DC emphasized the need for extensive capacity-building and awareness programmes among aspiring youth regarding various government schemes and flagship programmes.

He said that better awareness, handholding and capacity-building would enable the youth to avail available opportunities and improve their economic and employment prospects.

Reviewing the onboarding of businesses on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to register shopkeepers, business unit holders, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), grocery sellers and other eligible stakeholders on the platform to facilitate greater market access and better economic opportunities to them.

Emphasized maximum enrolment of farmers under Daksh Kisan, with focused efforts towards their skill development and capacity-building, the DC directed the concerned departments to undertake sustained awareness and mobilization campaigns to ensure wider participation of farmers and enhance their skills for improved productivity and livelihoods.

While reviewing the implementation of HADP and JKCIP, the DC asserted that the concerned departments must focus on timely approval and establishment of units under agriculture and allied sectors. He stressed upon the officers to work with a target-oriented approach and ensure that the approved targets are achieved within the stipulated timelines.

“All officers need to assert for both physical and financial progress under these flagship programmes,” he said.

The meeting also reviewed the progress under PMFBY and other interventions aimed at strengthening the agriculture and allied sectors in the district.

The Deputy Director, DE&CC Budgam, gave a detailed presentation on Mission YUVA, highlighting the status of cases and progress made under the programme. The Chief Agriculture Officer, Budgam, presented a detailed overview of the progress and implementation of HADP, JKCIP and PMFBY.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon all concerned officers to work in close coordination, ensure regular monitoring and address bottlenecks promptly for the effective implementation of the flagship programmes on the ground.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam Vivek Agarwal, General Manager DIC, SDMs, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Agriculture Extension Officer, Lead District Manager and other concerned officers And officials.
