Kangan, Aug 22: A local youth from Prang area of Kangan, Owais Mushtaq Sheikh bravely retrieved a body from Nallah Sindh at Prang on Saturday.

The 21-year old, Owais stepped forward during the rescue effort and helped retrieve the body from the water, earning appreciation from locals for his selfless act.

Owais said, “At that moment, I did not think about my own safety. I felt it was my responsibility to help and retrieve the body. I only wanted to do whatever I could as a human being.”

He added, “Losing a life is painful for any family. I just wanted to make sure that the deceased was brought out of the water and handed over to the family and authorities with dignity.”

A local resident, Jahangeer Ahmad Sheikh, appreciated Owais’s courage and said, “He (Owais) has set an example. In such difficult circumstances, stepping forward to help others requires great bravery. We appreciate his selfless act.”

He said such acts of courage and compassion deserve recognition and serve as an inspiration for others in the community—(KNO)
