Kashmir holds my favourite memories: Anil Mehta

Srinagar, Sept 07: Acclaimed cinematographer and filmmaker Anil Mehta on Monday said Kashmir holds some of his favourite memories and described the presence of filmmakers at IFFJK as “useful and important.”

Addressing the gathering at the festival at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Mehta, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “I’m happy to be here. I have been here many times. My favourite memories are here. It is useful and important for filmmakers like us to be here.”

Pertinently, Mehta is known for his cinematography in several acclaimed Hindi films, including Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara, Rockstar and Highway. His work in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam earned him the National Film Award for Best Cinematography.

He also directed Aaja Nachle, starring Madhuri Dixit and has been associated with several prominent films across genres.

Pertinently, the first-ever IFFJK is being held in Srinagar from September 7 to 10, has brought together filmmakers, actors and cinema professionals from across the country and abroad. (KNO)
